UHV Softball Plays Home Opening Doubleheader

Jaguars Face Schreiner

UHV softball, playing its first home games of the season Tuesday afternoon.

I was at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex as the Jaguars faced Schreiner in a doubleheader. Game one, home first, Angel Davidson with the sac fly, Brianna Leon scores the first Jaguar run at home this season. Same inning, Emily Flores drives one to left center. That’s a double, that scores Alexis Gonzales. The Jaguars add four more in the third to get the game one, 6-0 win. Flores and Leon with two RBI’s apiece. Michelle Kristoff tosses a four-hit shutout in the victory.

In game two, Kelsey Tidrick’s three-run double keys a four-run UHV first. Jaguars get the sweep with the 10-6 game two win. Davidson also with three RBI’s, and Tidrick is the winning pitcher. UHV softball returns to the VYSC next Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 for a doubleheader against Texas Southern.
