UHV Softball Opens Season In Fort Worth

UHV softball opened its tenth season Friday at the Cowtown Classic in Fort Worth.

Game 1

UHV 6, Avila 5

UHV scored six runs in the top of the 6 th to overcome a 5-0 deficit for the win

Avila scored three in the second and two in the fifth

Savannah Crittenden went the distance to get the win

Game 2

UHV 1, Central Methodist 0

Haley Beam tossed a 1-hitter, a fourth inning double and walked one, while striking out four

Savannah Crittenden had an RBI double in the third to drive in Marissa Longoria with the only run

Emily Flores had a single and Beam a double in the game for UHV

Game 3

No. 1 Oklahoma City 4, UHV 1

OCU scored 1 in the first, 2 in the fifth and 1 in the sixth

UHV got its lone run in the fourth on singles by Crittenden and Aubri Hockenbury and a OCU error

Michele Revels tossed 5 innings and took the loss, Beam pitched final two innings

UHV plays twice at the tourney Saturday, first at 1:00 p.m. vs. Tabor (Kansas) then at 3:00 p.m. vs. Texas Wesleyan.
