UHV releases 2019 soccer schedules
The University of Houston-Victoria men’s and women’s soccer program will play nine of its 17 regular season games at home this year according to UHV head coach Adrian Rigby.
The Jaguars released their 2019 schedule this week and will open the season at home hosting Oklahoma City University on Saturday, Aug. 31. The women kick the action off a 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3:30 p.m.
The Jaguars will also have non-conference home games on Sept. 6 against Arts and Science of Oklahoma, on Sept. 13 against Sul Ross and on Sept. 15 against Concordia-Austin.
UHV opens Red River Athletic Conference play on Sept. 26 hosting Paul Quinn and then hosts Texas A&M-Texarkana on Sept. 28 before going on the road for four conference matches. The Jaguars will be at Texas College on Oct. 3, Jarvis Christian on Oct. 5, Southwest (N.M.) on Oct. 10 and end the road trip on Oct. 12 at Huston-Tillotson.
The Jaguars then return home to finish off conference play by hosting LSU-Shreveport (Oct. 17), LSU-Alexandria (Oct. 19) and Our Lady of the Lake (Oct. 26).
Both teams will also have road games at Houston St. Thomas (Sept. 8), Texas Wesleyan (Sept. 19) and Southwest Assemblies of God (Sept. 21). The Jaguars will also take on McPherson College on Sept. 2 at Richland College in Dallas.
The Jaguars will have two home scrimmages with the men hosting Texas Lutheran on Aug. 19 and Texas A&M-International on Aug. 23, while the women will host UT-Rio Grande Valley on Aug. 19 and A&M-International on Aug. 23.
The RRAC Postseason Opening Round is scheduled for November 2, with the semifinals and finals scheduled Nov. 8-9 at Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Both teams advanced to the postseason last as the women fell to LSUA is a 5-4 shootout decision after battling to a 0-0 draw in the quarterfinals to end their season with a 7-6-1 record. The men fell to LSUA in the semifinals drooping a 3-2 decision to finish the year at 11-3-1.
