UHV Reconstructing Home Soccer Field

The Cage First Built In 2010

The home of UHV soccer, going through its first reconstruction since it was installed in 2010.
Jaguar soccer head coach Adrian Rigby told me the breaking point with poor field conditions came last year, when three non-conference home games were canceled, and three conference home games had to be moved to Round Rock. Coach Rigby told me that when a quarter of the field at the Cage was flooded on a Monday it was still unplayable by the next Saturday. Discussions on what to do started after the season and the final ok for field reconstruction came in February. Sports Field Solution from Dallas is doing the work. Coach Rigby told me the new drainage system is in, the new sprinkler and irrigation systems should be installed by the end of this week. If the weather holds, UHV soccer’s alumni games will be played Saturday afternoon at their practice field. Women’s game at 1:00, men’s game at 3:00.
