UHV has a golf team ranked in the top 15 in NAIA.

The Jaguar men, moving up 10 spots to number 15 in the Golfstat NAIA rankings. The Jaguars finished fourth last week at the San Antonio Shoot-Out that included a 16-team field with six NAIA nationally ranked teams in the field. UHV sophomore Ryan Morant, ranked 43rd in the NAIA Golfstat ratings. I asked him and teammate Ben Lake how exciting it is for the team to get this national ranking.

Said Morant, “It feels great to be. It’s a good momentum boost for us coming into conference in a month or so. It’ll be good.”

Said Lake, “We played pretty well for the field. It got us our spot to shoot up a lot to number 15 in the nation. It’s awesome and I think that’s the lowest UHV’s ever been. ”

UHV men’s golf returns to action March 16 at the Prairie View A&M Invitational at Sterling Country Club.
