UHV Jaguars win series against Jarvis Christian Bulldogs

UHV baseball takes series over Jarvis Chrisitan University 3-1

VICTORIA,Texas–UHV baseball wrapped up their last set of doubleheaders against Jarvis Christian university. After winning the first two games, the Jaguars had a chance to sweep the Bulldogs.

Christian Garcia started on the mound for the Jaguars and went five innings, where he gave up six runs. For the Bulldogs, a sharp Justin Lockley pitched all seven innings where he allowed just one run in the third and gave up two hits. Final score would be 7-1.

The Jaguars hopes of sweeping went out the window, but they would  still win the series by winning the last game of the doubleheader.

In game two, both the Bulldogs and Jaguars scored a run each in the first innings. UHV would score two more in the second, and bring in a run in the sixth, eight, and ninth innings including a home-run by the second baseman, Hayden Leopold. Even though the Bulldogs scored four runs in the fifth inning, they would still fall short a run and Jaguars get the win 7-6 and win the series 3-1.
