UHV hosts Jaguar Day
The open house event is a day dedicated to prospective students and their families to tour the UHV campus and learn more about the university
VICTORIA, Texas -The University of Houston victoria hosted its first in-person jaguar day after two years of having to move its recruitment event online.
Jaguar Day is an open house event where prospective students and their families can learn about majors and degree programs, admissions, financial aid, housing, student life, and have the chance to meet UHV staff members and tour the campus to get a first-hand look at the college. Oscar Torres works in the UHV Student Recruitment office and says Jaguar Day is a great introduction to UHV for prospective students.
“It’s all about an opportunity. So we just want to inform them about all the great benefits of becoming a UHV Jaguar. And we put these on Saturdays because a lot of times they’re in school throughout the week and the parents have to work so we encourage them to come out on a Saturday, have a fun weekend with us, and just learn about what being a UHV Jaguar is all about,” says Torres.
Torres says that they had prospective students come in from San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Laredo. He says that Jaguar Day is open to all, from high schoolers, those looking to transfer from a community college, or even those seeking a master’s degree. The next Jaguar Day is scheduled for February 26, 2022.
