UHV Hires New Soccer Assistant

UHV soccer has a new assistant coach. University of Houston-Victoria head soccer coach Adrian Rigby today announced the addition of Brandon Misuraca as an assistant soccer coach for the men’s and women’s soccer programs at UHV.

Misuraca joins the UHV program after spending three years as the assistant men’s soccer coach at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. He served as the goalkeeping coach, opposition scout and reserve team head coach, along with recruiting coordinator.

While at Cumberlands, the Patriots made three appearances in the Mid-South Conference Tournament, twice advancing to the semifinals.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity given to me by head coach Adrian Rigby and athletics director Ashley Walyuchow, and all other members of the hiring committee,” said Misuraca. “I’m very excited to be a member of an athletic department and university committed to success both on the field and in the classroom.”

A 2014 graduate of Missouri Baptist University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, he was a four-year letterman for the Spartans while playing goalkeeper and midfielder positions. A native of St. Louis, Mo., he also served as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s program at MBU working with the goalkeepers.

“We’re excited to have Brandon join our coaching staff here at UHV,” said Rigby. “Brandon brings several years of collegiate experience within the NAIA from the University of the Cumberlands.

“At UC Brandon gained valuable experience as the head JV coach and recruiting coordinator for the men’s soccer program. Brandon has a great energy for the game and we are looking forward to him making his mark on our soccer programs and on the UHV campus.”

Misuraca has also been part of the Missouri Olympic Development Program where he has served as both head coach and assistant coach of the ’99 boys team.

He earned his Master’s Degree in Early Elementary Education (P-5) in 2016 from the University of the Cumberlands and he also has a USSF “D” coaching license.

Misuraca replaces Nick Mims who stepped down to accept the men’s head soccer coaching position at Concordia University (Texas) in April.
