UHV Dorm Move – In Day 2021

It's a right of passage -- college move in day ….and that's what many new students did Thursday at UHV.

Shelby Grothe, freshman business major at UHV, moved into her new room Thursday morning. She shares with us she is looking forward to her new college experience as a business major. while –Brandon Lee, director of residence life at UHV, says that move in day is an important part of the college experience, and will hopefully help to make the transition to college life a success.

“I’m looking forward to making new friends, A new change in lifestyle I guess, and my studies. I guess that’s what I’m most excited for,” said Grothe.

“We do treat this is a huge day for everybody involved, just like you said,It is the first time for the students away from home. A lot of people are anxious about getting those students in and getting started on the college life, so we try to make the experience as calm as possible as smooth as possible as far as the transition,” said Lee.

About 400 students total will call the dorms at UHV home for the next year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic -Lee says students are encouraged to social distance and wear masks.
