UHV baseball swept by LSU-Alexandria

Jaguars lose game three 13-5

VICTORIA,TX-The UHV Jaguars baseball team hosted the LSU-Alexandria Generals Saturday afternoon at Riverside Stadium. The Jaguars were coming off losses in both games of their doubleheader on Friday with the Generals.

In Saturday’s game, Christian Garcia started on the mound for the Jaguars. The Generals scored two runs first, but the Jaguars answered right back scoring one run in the first with a homer by Raul Lopez and an RBI by Cade Mitscherling in the second inning to tie the game. Brayton Cardell took over on the mound for UHV in the fourth inning. The Generals had a three-run fifth inning and added one more run in the seventh to take a 7-2 lead over the Jaguars. UHV scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning and Amilcar Montanez hit a homer in the eight. The Jaguars were trailing in the ninth inning as Josh Herrera took over on the mound before the Generals opened the game with two RBI’s and a two-run homerun expanding their lead 13-5. In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Jaguars weren’t able to score any runs and fall to the Generals 13-5.

The Jaguars are swept by the Generals this weekend losing all three games. UHV will be at home on Friday, April 22 hosting a three game series against Texas A&M Texarkana.
