UHV baseball gets 19-5 win over OLLU
Jaguars scored 12 runs in eight inning
SAN ANTONIO, TX- The UHV Jaguars baseball team they took on Our lady of the Lake Saints on the road.
By the sixth inning the Jaguars were leading 5-1. UHV scored three runs in the third inning to start off the scoring in the game. The Jaguars added one more run to their lead in the fourth and one in the sixth. The Jaguars held the Saints scoreless until the sixth inning when they got a run across the plate. The Jaguars get two more runs in the seventh inning to extend their lead 7-1. In the bottom half of the seventh with no outs, the Saints load the bases and bring in four runs to cut their deficit. UHV wasn’t too worried about it as they scored 12 runs in the eight inning to extend their lead 19-5. Hayden Leopold and Amilcar Montanez each hit a three run homer in that inning. That was Montanez’s second homer of the game. UHV defeated the Saints 19-5.
Turner Gryseels started the game for UHV. He went 5 innings, allowing just one run and gets the win. Gustavo Valdes took over on the mound in the middle of the fifth to close the game.
