UHV Baseball Coach Gives Shout Out To Astros Star 9-16
Puhl Congratulates Tucker On Tying His Team Mark
Victoria, Texas —
UHV baseball head coach Terry Puhl’s name came up in Astros history this past weekend.
In the Astros’ win in Kansas City Saturday night, rookie Kyle Tucker logged a career-high four hits, all singles, including the go-ahead RBI in the sixth. Tucker became the youngest Astro to reach base five times in a game since coach Puhl did it on August 8, 1978. Coach Puhl told me his thoughts about his longtime Astros record getting equalled.
“I expect to see him break a lot of Astro records over the years. Pete Rose said that to me once. I broke one of his records and I saw him down at first. He told me that’s why records are made, it’s to be broken. Congratulations Tucker.”
Coach Puhl told me that game 41 years ago was against the Cubs in the Astrodome.
