Two Local Gymnasts Can Now Qualify For Olympics
Oympics Postponement Helps Two Local Girls
For two local gymnasts, there could be a golden lining to the COVID-19 dark cloud.
If the Summer Olympics had been held this summer as planned in Tokyo, Krista McNary and Brooke Warzecha from Victoria Gymagic would not have been old enough to be eligible to try out for Team USA. But, now that the Summer Olympics have been pushed back a year, both those girls will be old enough to try out for a trip to the Olympics. For the Olympics, you must be 17 year old before or during the year the Olympics are being held. Krista will turn 16 in June, Brooke’s 16th birthday is in October. Both Krista and Brooke competed in Tokyo last November for Team USA in the World Age Group Games.
