Two arrested following narcotics investigation in Yoakum

Drugs, cash and a luxury vehicle seized by law enforcement

YOAKUM, Texas- The Chief of Police in Yoakum confirms the arrest of a man and a woman following a narcotics investigation conducted by the Yoakum Police Department.

Assisted by Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security, a search warrant was executed in a room at the Oyo Hotel in Yoakum on Friday September 11th.

Moises Garcia, Jr., 33 from Yoakum and Destinee Amber Stanford, 33 from Victoria, were both arrested at the scene.

Garcia, Jr. is charged with:

  • Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1= >4G<200G – 1st Degree Felony
  • Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1= >1G<G- 2nd Degree Felony

Destinee Amber Stanford is charged with:

  • Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1>4G<200G- 1st Degree Felony
  • Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3-4 <28G- State Jail Felony
  • Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 <1G State Jail Felony

The following were seized by law enforcement during the search warrant:

  • 96 grams Methamphetamine
  • 4.5 grams Crack Cocaine
  • 6.7 grams Ecstasy
  • 40.1 grams Tramadol
  • 12.8 grams Sildenafil
  • .5 grams Pregabalin
  • $3,040 in cash
  • Mercedes Benz E320

Garcia, Jr., and Stanford are currently booked in the DeWitt County Jail. This case is still under investigation.
