Tuesday H.S. volleyball roundup

Here are Tuesday’s high school volleyball results around the Crossroads.

Hosting a home district game against King, East volleyball lost in three sets to drop to 10-18 overall on the season, and 3-4 in district. After the Titans dropped a close opening frame, 25-27, the Mustangs edged out their district foes 25-22 in the second before winning going away in a lopsided third game.

East will play West on the road on Friday in a crosstown matchup.

Lady Flyer volleyball was home Tuesday in a non-district game against Gregory-Portland. Despite taking the first game, 26-24, STJ lost the next three to lose in four, 26-24, 10-25, 22-25, 20-25. Savannah Wharton tied for the Lady Flyer lead with 11 kills, adding 5 digs and 5 blocks. Rachel Ward added 11 kills and 2 blocks, while Maiya Tillman had 7 kills, 13 digs, and 2 blocks.
