Truck Fire on Loop 463 in Victoria

VICTORIA – A truck caught on fire while driving down Loop 463 on Friday.

Member’s of the Victoria Fire Marshal’s office were actually driving behind the truck when it caught on fire. The fire officials were on their way to do an inspection but pulled over behind the truck, right before the Business 59 exit.

The fire marshal’s office says the driver, a 22-year-old male, didn’t notice the fire at first, but pulled over because his airbag went off. The truck was a 2003 Ford F-150 and was a total loss. Victoria Fire Marshal Tom Legler said after initial investigations, it looked like the fire started in the back of the truck because of a fuel issue, and the fire spread because of the wind.

The driver was the only one in the car and was able to get out uninjured.
