Truck fire in Muldoon, Texas, leaving the truck a total loss

MULDOON, Texas –  According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, on Tuesday, April 20, around 4:47 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a truck on fire on Bittner Road, near FM 2237. The fire happened near Muldoon, Texas.

The Muldoon Fire Department was made aware of the fire and responded to the scene, along with Deputy Joe Gonzales.

It was reported, upon arrival, a Chevrolet pickup truck was fully submerged pulling a low boy trailer, and the fire had spread to the grass. It was quickly extinguished.

According to a report from the driver, smoke was coming in the cab of the pickup vehicle when he stopped the truck. The driver’s cell phone was dead, so he proceeded to find help and call 9-1-1.

Although the truck was a total loss, there were no reported injuries. The fire’s cause is believed to be an electrical or mechanical failure.
