Tropical Moisture and Heat Sealed Under Upper Level High; Heat Index is the Word

An upper level ridge has taken hold of the Crossroads and turned it into a colander. Afternoon temperatures well into the 90s combined with abundance Gulf moisture is yielding heat index values between 105 and 112 degrees over the area. That synopsis will persist pretty much throughout the next week, with only isolated showers Monday and again on Wednesday as week instability makes a brief appearance. With overnight temperatures only retreating into the middle to upper 70s, little relief from the heat can be expected.
