Trey’s First Warn Thursday AM Forecast (9/22) – Feeling a bit more like fall next week
Heat index near 100 today
Today: Sunny and Hot. High: 97. Winds: Light.
Tonight: Clear Skies. Low: 71. Winds: Light.
Friday: Sunny and Hot. High: 98. Winds: SE 5 mph.
Synopsis: Above normal temperatures, thanks to dry air and high pressure over the area. Heat index value 100 or so today through Monday. Speaking of Monday, a cold front will pass through in the second half of the day, with only slight rain chances with frontal passage. Behind the front dryer and a bit cooler air will move in. A slight taste of fall will finally be in the air. Lows Tuesday morning will be in the 60’s. while highs will remain near 90, but the lower humidity will feel nice, and help drop those overnight lows in the 60’s again on Wednesday morning. Beyond this time period, we will start looking at the tropics, Weather model runs show a tropical system in the Gulf by the last part of next week. Still way to early to tell anything, but this will bare watching. ~ Trey
