Traveling Vietnam memorial wall heads to Goliad
GOLIAD, Texas — Goliad County, is the next stop for the massive view that is a replica of the wall memorial for the 58,320 members of the armed services who died in Vietnam.
For the past year, Ewell-Pompton American Legion Post 193 of Goliad has fund-raised the nearly $10,000 price tag for the replica display.
The wall will be making its way down highway 183 from Cuero, Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. escorted by at least five bikers clubs.
The wall, with the help of volunteers will be set up at Goliad Fairgrounds on Thursday, November 7 th at 8 a.m.
The official opening ceremony for the public will be held Friday at noon at Goliad Fairgrounds.
The public is asked to be respectful of the memorial, which hopes to honor those whose names are engraved on stone, and for those who know the sacrifice all too well.
The display will be up throughout the week, honoring Veteran’s Day.
