Traffic stop leads to 28 pounds of cocaine seized in Victoria County drug bust

VICTORIA – A driver of an 18-wheeler was arrested last weekend when Victoria County Sheriff’s seized an estimated $300,000 worth of cocaine after a routine traffic stopped. On Saturday, February 18, a Victoria County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped an18-wheeler around 12:45 p.m. During the stop, the deputy became suspicious of the driver,42-year-old Aurelio Aguilar of Brownsville, and began to investigate the possibility of criminal activity. A K-9 then alerted the deputy to a possible presence of narcotics in the vehicle. The search led to the deputy finding 28 pounds of cocaine in the vehicle. Aguilar was arrested for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance which is a second degree felony. Aguilar was released from the Victoria County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
