Tigerettes advance to state for first time in Goliad history
The Tigerettes basketball team made school history on Saturday. The Goliad girls are heading to state for the first time ever. They took down Odem, 42-33, in the 3A Regional Final.
It was a redeeming win for the Tigerettes, as both teams were co-district-champions of 29-3A. Kassidy Nicholson hit four three-pointers and led Goliad with 16 points. Roxanne Morris added 13 points.
Their seeding for the state tournament will depend on their record, which is 29-7. The state semifinals are on Thursday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
