Three historic downtown properties receive grant funding for improvements and preservations
Grant funding is through the City of Victoria Main Street Program's Downtown Façade Grant Program.
VICTORIA, Texas – Through the City of Victoria Main Street Program’s Downtown Façade Grant Program, three historic downtown property owners will be able to improve and preserve their properties.
The Main Street Program approved 50% matching grants for the following projects:
· Fossati’s Delicatessen, 302 S. Main St. – for the amount of $10,000 to install a new roof
· Rosalie Guest Quarters, 305 S. William St. – for the amount of $9,253.21 to install a new roof
· Office building, 117 S. Main St. – for the amount of $9,970 to remove and demolish awning to reveal the original façade
To follow the terms of the program, all projects must be consistent with the buildings’ original designs, completed in one year and follow the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
To apply for grant funding and view program requirements, downtown property owners can visit www.victoriatx.gov/mainstreet. As funds become available, eligible projects will be funded on a rolling basis.
The Victoria Sales Tax Development Corporation, which oversees, which oversees the allocation of Type 4B sales tax revenue for economic and community development projects, will provide the funds for the program.
