Three arrested near Edna after car was located in connection to a murder in Georgia

Two men and one woman were arrested on Monday, April 26 near FM 530.

EDNA, Texas – Two men and one woman were arrested Monday, April 26 after a car was located in connection to a murder in Georgia, confirmed the Edna Police Department.

On Monday, police made contact with a woman at a Love’s Truck Stop after being on private property without permission.

The private property was right off of FM 530 heading towards Edna, said Chief Boone with the Edna Police Department.

Authorities searched the woman’s car and found methamphetamines, bullet proof vests, bullet proof vest plates and an AR-15, according to a news release.

The woman notified authorities she had dropped off the two men and they were searching for a car that they hid near FM 530.

The Edna Police Police Department with the help of Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Ganado Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety determined the hidden car was connected to a murder in Georgia.

The local agencies contacted the Georgia Bureau Investigations after the woman made mention of it during the investigation, said Lt. Jeremy Crull with the Edna Police Department.

Lt. Crull said an investigator confirmed that two out of the three suspects were wanted for questioning in Georgia.

“There was not an active warrant during that time … but they were persons of interest … they were seeking warrants for two of the subjects,” said Lt. Crull.

All three subjects were arrested and are being held on local charges and charges in Georgia as well.

They are in custody at the Jackson County Jail.

As of Friday, Lt. Crull confirmed the suspects are still at the jail.

This is an ongoing investigation.
