Three Area Teams Make State Football Poll

Calhoun Remains In State Top Ten

Three area high school football team make the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine state polls Monday.

Calhoun, despite its forfeit loss to Alice, remains at number 10 in the 5A Division II state poll. The Sandcrabs have a big district game Friday night at Tuloso-Midway.

Two more area high school football teams take up the top two spots in the state 2A Division I poll. Refugio, coming off a bye week, remains in the top spot. The Bobcats host Riviera Friday night. Shiner stays at number two. The Comanches, now 6-0 after blowing out Lexington, 63-21, getting revenge for their only regular season loss last year. Shiner hosts Yorktown in their district opener Friday night.
