Thirty-nine-year-old man receives multiple charges

Arrest began with a vehicle pursuit

VICTORIA, Texas – On Thursday, Oct. 28, at approximately 10 a.m., Victoria Police Department Detectives, along with the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle.

Thirty-nine-year-old Ruben Guerrero was driving the vehicle in the area of Pleasant Green Drive at Laurent Street. Guerrero was the subject of a Violation of Parole warrant charging him with the following:

  • Burglary of a Habitation,
  • Attempted Burglary of a Habitation,
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1<1G and
  • Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry

Guerrero failed to stop for officers prompting a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle pursuit then ended in the 2500 block of Thompson Street. Guerrero was arrested. During the search incident to arrest, marijuana was found on the suspect.

At fist, Guerrero was charged with the parole warrant, evading in a vehicle and possession of marijuana <2oz. He also concealed Methamphetamine, which was located following his arrest. In response, Guerrero was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 <1G, Tampering with Evidence and Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.
