VICTORIA, Texas – Theresa Klacman, founder of Restoration House Ministries, is running for Victoria ISD Trustee, District 1. Klacman has sought this position because she believes that as a community, we are a pivotal point for finding solutions to the ever-increasing problems at VISD.

According to Klacman, it is time to rebuild the relationship divide between Victoria County and its school board. She feels it is time to fix the district’s school buildings and execute a plan that leaves no student behind. Klacman also wants to restore discipline in the classroom to help students learn in a functional and safe work space. She refers to her platform as the 3 R’s of her campaign: Rebuild, Repair and Restore.

Klacman founded the Restoration House Ministries in 2009. She wanted to teach young women in crisis about a God who loves them and how to live a life with purpose. She then opened he resale shop Restoration House Ministries Gleanings, shortly after. According to a news release from Klacman, the shop now meets the needs of hundreds of families. It also helps the homeless adults and children throughout her community.

Klacman initiates partnership with Faith Family Church

In March 2014, Klacman initiated a partnership between Restoration House Ministries and Faith Family Church. Her goal was to open the first Christian Faith-Based Homeless shelter in Victoria for women and women with children.

In July 2014, she then took a position with STCH Ministries as a site coordinator. She planned to start a program in Goliad for women and their children fulfilling a similar mission. According to her news release, Klacman hoped, through this position, she would build on her previous experiences helping women. She created a holistic program with four phases.

As women move through each phase, they begin to restore their relationship with God, address obstacles and develop skills to move from brokenness to independent mothers. They are able to nurture and care for their own children. In July 2019, Klacman was recognized and promoted to Director of Family Ministries.

According to her news release, Klacman’s vision is to see the success of the RHM and STCH programs expand to other locations and cities. Klacman says she brings the same tenacity and dedication to her run for VISD Trustee. She addresses the problems she sees with a common-sense approach and business acumen. She believes this approach will enable her to help VISD move forward, find solutions and do so on time and on budget for the people.

Klacman, the wife of Craig,  mother of two daughters and grandmother of five grandchildren, asks for the community’s support and prayers as she runs for your next VISD Trustee for District 1. You can follow Theresa’s campaign on Facebook for updates.
