“There was simply not enough water running through the system” says the Victoria City Manager
Jesus Garza gave an update on the water issues during the snow storm in the Victoria City Council Meeting
VICTORIA, Texas– Jesus Garza, The Victoria City Manager addressed the water issues that occurred during the winter storm. Garza says the water system was not completely closed and did not lose water. The water plant never lost power and it never shut down.
“There was simply not enough water running through the system to make it all the way around. It was caused for a number of reasons. We’re still looking into some of these, but without a doubt, the winter storm had an impact on some of the gauges. That’s an investigation that’s still ongoing. So clearly there were some issues with the gauges potentially being frozen and just some issues that we will continue to investigate,” said Jesus Garza, The Victoria City Manager.
There were approximately 800 water outages in the community but Garza says the maps show there were higher water shutoffs in the Southside of Victoria compared to the Northside.
