Therapy dog Molly is available anywhere in Texas

The Texas Fallen Officer Foundation has a therapy dog named Molly, who can help relax any victim after a traumatic event.

VICTORIA, Texas – The Texas Fallen Officer Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides aid and assistance to officers and their families who are killed or critically injured in the line-of-duty throughout the state of Texas. One great resource they have is a therapy dog, Molly, who can help any victim calm down after experiencing trauma.

The organization’s chaplain, Ron Leonard, said this is a life-changing resource for Texans and that he’s glad Molly has made such a positive impact.

Leonard mentioned that he’s spoken to many vets and a chemical called cortisol is released after petting an animal, helping the victim feel good and release stress.

“And Molly goes out, she is a ministry or presence with what she does. She comforts people down. Molly has been on over 5,000 visits and over 230 critical incident calls. She has been on mass shootings, she’s been on officer down funerals. She has also been to an officer-involved shooting.”

The organization makes sure to give the funds directly to the family, instead of using a third party, such as GoFundMe, etc.
