The Yoakum Bulldogs plan to let the dogs out

YOAKUM, Texas — The Yoakum Bulldogs will look to continue their undefeated streak against their long-time rivals the Cuero Gobblers.

There are a lot of similarities between these two teams this year. Both teams blew out their week one opponent and in the second game, they only allowed a field goal while scoring 3 plus touchdowns of their own. Both teams are ranked number seven of their respective classes and the week before they were both ranked number 10 in the rankings. Yoakum head coach bo Robinson says they are looking to get better defensively and to work on the fundamentals.

We are just preparing like any other game, obviously it’s against Cuero so it might mean a little bit more to some people. To us it’s just another game. I guess it’s special becuase we have played for so many years, but for us it’s just another game.

Meanwhile, senior lineman Isaiah Bordovski says they arent taking Cuero lightly and are working on keeping the intensity up until and through Friday.

It’s a pretty big game there has been a lot of stuff all week, says Bordovski. By the end of the week we need to let the dog out of you to be mean, we can’t be nice on Friday.

Sports reporter Tania Tchalikian will be live at the game with the latest from the coaches and players leading up to the game. The kick-off is at 7:30 p.m. in Cuero September 10.
