The West Warriors are headed to the basketball semifinals

Victoria West Warriors defeat Rowe 53-31

VICTORIA,Texas– It was a battle of the Warriors last night as the Victoria West Warriors faced the Rowe Warriors in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. West would come out on fire hitting two back to back three pointers, forcing the Rowe head coach to call an early time out. Victoria West ran a full court press to keep the pressure on Rowe. Which seemed to work for West as they forced multiple turnovers in the first quarter. Kevin Rankin started 2-2 from the three point line and had double digits in points. The West Warriors led in the half 27-21, and would end up winning the game 53-31 behind leading scorer Kevin Rankin who had 27 points.

“All gas no break. I mean teams that are in this round came to play and we each got to remember that and keep playing. I’ve just worked hard and all of us worked hard. Coach always tells me the energy starts with me so I just try to keep it high and so everybody starts feeling good,” said Rankin.

The West Warriors will play in the semifinals on Wednesday against Glenn high school.
