VICTORIA,Texas–After weeks of waiting to get back on the field Victoria Independent School District teams got the chance to return to practice. The Victoria West High School football team had their first intrasquad scrimmage Saturday morning. Due to the V.I.S.D. regulations, district schools weren’t able to return to the field while other schools have already played 3 weeks of Friday night games. Warriors head coach Courtney Boyce is thankful that they got to finally practice on August 24.

“I think they’ve done a great job and this was the first week with helmets and we feels like we’ve been kind of going at it for about 3 weeks now, but mandatory practice this week it’s been a lot of fun watching them respond,” said Boyce.

Boyce talks about the intrasquad scrimmage and the field after the game.

“Yea it was a good scrimmage for us. It was a day that we’re able to come out and do this and it’s a great looking stadium and the kids are really excited about it. There’s a lot of great competition going on,” continued Boyce

The Victoria West Warriors will have another scrimmage on Friday against Floresville on the road.
