Grants for Great Ideas is a competitive grant proposal program
The V ISD Foundation awarded educators with more than $65,000 in grants. This was on behalf of Grants for Great Ideas which is a competitive grant proposal program. Educators and the Victoria ISD have to apply and meet certain guidelines. A committee selects the top scoring applications and those individuals and schools are awarded money for their projects.
Robin Harkey Executive Director of The VISD Foundation: “It was so important for us this year to be able to come onto the schools themselves and see everyone and be able to just share in the excitement of what’s going on.”
Lisa Hildebrand Assistant Principal Torres Elementary: “I was awarded and worked really hard on this grant, so I am so excited for our students here at Torres.”
So Torres Elementary will use the money for books the students will get a golden coin to use and a book vending machine
