The Victoria Women, Infants, and Children Center received a vehicle donation
The donation came from the Smith South Plains Community Action Association
VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria County Commissioners approved a donation from the Smith South Plains Community Action for a new vehicle for the Victoria Women’s, Infants, and Children’s center.
This new 2021 Ford bus was renovated to assimilate a “WIC office” with the intent to offer mobility of services. The Victoria WIC Program was one of the fortunate recipients of conversion buses this year. The value of the bus was $94,840.
The plans are to use the bus to bring WIC services to families in the community and offer more convenient and accessible service opportunities. The bus will be called “WIC on Wheels”. Up to 5 staff members can travel in the bus and will have the ability to offer the same services and benefits in this “mobile clinic”, as they would at regular building locations.
