The Victoria Public Health Department to collaborate with local animal society to increase adoption rate
The Victoria County Commissioners voted and approved the collaboration
VICTORIA, Texas-Inside the Victoria County Commissioners Court on Monday, David Gonzales the Victoria County Public Health Director stood before the Commissioners to explain his idea on collaborating with the Best-Friend Animal Society to access animal control and shelter.
“It’s going to be an agreement with Best-Friend Animal Society to allow them to review our policies and procedures on facilities but this is going to allow us to have a partnership with them to be able to access more rescue groups and shelters to be able to increase our adoption rate with the animals out there ultimately reduce the etherealization rate which is our goal. To allow us to really access the network that has been put in place and that would be a positive thing for animal control,” said David Gonzales, the Victoria County Public Health Director.
The Victoria County Commissioners voted and approved the collaboration.
On January 4 we asked in our daily poll if you think stray/roaming animals in Victoria is an issue? Seventy-seven percent of the people who voted said “yes,” and 23% voted “no.” Hopefully, this partnership with the Best-Friend Animal Society will help to address this issue.
