VICTORIA, Texas – Earlier today, the Victoria Police Department hosted its second community meeting at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria.

The meeting began with a presentation from the Community Engagement Division discussing the dangers of leaving your vehicles unlocked and home security. The Auto Theft Unit followed after by discussing recent catalytic converter thefts and tips to prevent them.

Victoria Police Chief, Robert Arredondo, followed with a speech on the importance of strengthening the relationship between the police department and the community.

“I really truly believe that the best thing for our community is for the police department and the community to partner. We have to partner together we have to work together we got to do this together so that we can be stronger as you know there’s strength in numbers,” says Chief Arredondo.

After the presentation, there was a break-out session to allow residents to walk to different booths to ask questions and give feedback to police officers and representatives from the city’s streets and code enforcement division and the county’s animal control department.
