The Victoria County Commissioners approved the purchasing policy
VICTORIA, Texas—- The Victoria County Commissions reviewed and approved the county purchasing policy. A purchasing policy has been in place to meet the community’s needs for services at a reasonable cost.
“Which incorporates not only state law but modern best practices for counties in the realm of purchasing. I think this is a very positive step forward for the county as stewards of the taxpayer’s dollars,” said County Judge Ben Zeller.
Judge Zeller says he thinks they approved an excellent policy that includes the state laws and best practices to make sure things are done consistently and transparently with the proper policies.
“Thus far this year that’s led to a new IT and cybersecurity policy. A new investment policy, commissioners court rules of procedures and others,” said Judge Zeller.
The commissioner’s goal for this year is to focus on innovation and improving the county’s historical ways of doing things.
This policy has been many, many months in the making. We’ve reviewed it extensively, looked at other communities. How other counties do it and really put together what I think is a model policy, said Zeller.
Judge Zeller says the purchasing policy model was put together in a way that any new commissioner would have an easy guideline to follow.
