The Shiner I.S.D. closes all campuses Friday, January 14 due to COVID-19
Students will return to class Tuesday, January 18
SHINER, Texas – The Shiner I.S.D. has cancelled all classes for Friday, January 14, 2022 due to COVID-19. The district has seen a large increase in the number of students who are absent due to COVID-19. Students will return Tuesday, January 18. Monday was already a holiday to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
“Due to a consistent and significant increase in absenteeism, Shiner I.S.D. will be closed on Friday, January 14,” the district wrote on its Facebook page. “This will allow for the multitude of viruses that we are currently experiencing to run their course, as well as allowing our staff to thoroughly clean the campus and prepare for a healthy start next Tuesday, January 18. Next Monday was already scheduled as a student holiday.”
