The NCAA announces San Antonio to host the women’s tournament
San Antonio to hold the women's tournament in March
SAN ANTONIO, Texas– The NCAA announced today that the entire women’s basketball tournament will be hosted in the San Antonio region from March 21st to April 4th. The NCAA hopes keeping the tournament in one city will mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This is the same reason they moved the men’s tournament to the Indianapolis area. 64 of the best women’s college basketball teams will take part in this year’s tournament using five different sites in the area for the opening round. The Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four and championship games will all take place at the Alamodome. A decision has not yet been made whether to allow fans at the games.
