The Kiwanis Club of Victoria is adding a new feature to their annual Riverside Ride event this year

The club will add a KidzFest to tie back to their focus on children

VICTORIA, Texas – The annual Riverside Ride event is back this year with a new fun addition, a children’s festival.

The Kiwanis Club of Victoria wants to revert its focus to the children of Victoria by partnering with several local children organizations to create the new “KidzFest”.

The club is inviting several organizations to take part in the new event such as the YMCA, Children’s Discovery Museum, the Victoria Public Library and the Nazareth academy. Also, the club will partner with the Victoria Main Street program and the Victoria Parks and Rec in providing a trailer filled with fun activities for kids and families.

“The reason why we wanted to add KidzFest is because we wanted to celebrate all the organizations who are working hard to provide critical services for children and things that nurture their growth,” said Shannon Longoria, Vice President of the Kiwanis Club. “we partnered with area organizations who are currently providing programs in the community and we ask them to come down and just give us a glimpse of what they do daily.”

The Riverside Ride bicycle event is an annual event where 150-200 riders will take part in various routes throughout Riverside Park, downtown Victoria and a 60-mile route through Victoria County. The bike ride event is the major fundraiser of the year for the club that allows them to be able to give more donations to different local organizations.

The Kidz Fest is free for the public to come out and enjoy.

For COVID-19 safety, the event will have sanitization equipment and other personal protective equipment available to ensure a safe and fun environment.
