The Heat Continues in the Crossroads
The heat continues in the Crossroads with temperatures in the middle to upper 90s. Gonzales made it into the triple digits again. Heat index values are into the triple digits as well. Most of the Crossroads is underneath a Heat Advisory except Victoria and counties to the southwest. Heat Advisories are likely for Sunday and Monday with very hot temperatures and heat index values near 110. The good news is the upper ridge will begin breaking down and shifting to the west. Rain showers are possible Tuesday and Wednesday with a disturbance moving in on the outer edge of the high pressure ridge. From Thursday into the weekend, it remains to be seen if the upper high builds back into the crossroads. In the tropics, the Atlantic ocean remains quiet. Stay hydrated and practice heat safety!!
