The first Downtown Victoria Art Walk where artists partner with businesses
An in-person experience for friends and family in downtown Victoria on Friday.
VICTORIA, Texas – An in-person experience for friends and family in downtown Victoria is on Friday, June 4.
It’s the first art walk in downtown Victoria, said Claire Santellana with the Victoria Art League.
Several businesses partnered with artists in the Crossroads to showcase their art pieces.
Artists did not have to pay to submit their work.
Santellana said there’s about 10 to 14 participating businesses that are going to allow artists to put their art work up in their place of business.
The art pieces will be up the night of the event or up to 30 days, said Santellana. It will be dependent on each business and artist.
Santellana shared some artists will also have the chance to sell their art work the night of the event.
“This time we focused on the adults, adults artists were hit really hard with COVID and they were not able to make as much money,” she said. “So, we really wanted to help those adults out, we do have a variety of artists who have some sculptures, we mosaic, paintings, oil, we have pencil artists [and] we have abstract artists.”
Santellana said some artists will also have the chance to be featured at the Victoria Art League.
She mentioned a trolley will be available that day.
The trolley will take people to different spots [businesses] to discover all the wonderful art pieces.
Santellana added there will be a raffle for the people who do plan to use the trolley.
The art walk starts at 5:30 p.m. and wraps up at 8:30 p.m.
The Downtown Victoria Art Walk is in collaboration with the Victoria Main Street Program and the Victoria Art League.
