The 5th Annual Weesatche 4 Warriors brought the community together

In the rural area of Goliad, the veterans, military, and first responders were able to reunite for a family fun event.

Denise Hiebner the President of Weesatche 4 Warriors said, “We decided that we needed to do something in this community to show our veterans, our military, and first responders how much we appreciate their sacrifices.

Hiebner also said this event is near and dear to her heart because her two sons are currently serving in the military. However, she told me about three veterans who attended this event.

“We have three World War II Veterans that are from right here in the Weesatche community. The oldest one Mr. Roland Diebel will be 102 in January,” said Hiebner.

The three World War II veterans were able to reunite for this special event. Hiebner explained what veterans do when they get together.

“Veterans like talking to each other about their experiences. They don’t like talking to people who didn’t experience it because they don’t understand,” said Hiebner.

Meanwhile, the volunteers for this event brought the community together to enjoy food, horseback riding, and a custom car show.

“All the funds we make we have given to local area organizations who are trying to help veterans, military, and first responders,” said Hiebner.
