Texas Mile returns to Victoria this weekend

The most recognized 1-mile top speed racing event in the world returns to Victoria this weekend.

The Texas Mile Race is scheduled to kick off March 22-24 at the Victoria Regional Airport. Participants come from all around the world to race their fastest cars on a challenging 1-mile race track.

The doors will open for spectators at 8:30 a.m, and they can expect to see a lot of new cars.

” Texas mile every time they come to the airport they bring some new thing coming out like last year we had corvette, ” said Lenny Llerena , Airport Executive Director.

Expect local food trucks, bleacher seating, and shaded viewing areas. Plus, free bus transportation is available.

The Texas mile started in the Crossroads back in 2003.

The event is Friday 8 a.m. to dusk, Saturday 8 a.m. to dusk and Sunday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. cost is $25 and children 12 and under are free.
