Texas flags to be lowered half-staff in honor of U.S. service members

Thirteen service members were killed during an attack in Kabul

AUSTIN, Texas – On Friday, Aug. 27, Governor Greg Abbott ordered Texas flags across the state to be lowered to half-staff to honor the U.S. service members. Thirteen service members lost their lives during an attack at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on Thursday, Aug. 26.

The flags should remain at half-staff through sunset on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021.
