Wanted Tennessee man arrested in Victoria County
Subject was be wanted out of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina
VICTORIA, Texas – On Tuesday, March 3 2021, Victoria Police Department and all Crossroads Taskforce members arrested Michael Wayne Frieda who was wanted out of North Carolina for kidnapping, rape, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Frieda is also a suspect in other similar incidents in other states as well.
According to the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, Houston HIDTA (High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas), shared an alert regarding Frieda. Upon reviewing the alert, it was disseminated to all CRTF members requesting assistance locating Frieda’s vehicle, a 2019 Freightliner.
Within minutes of receiving the alert, Detective Broadus, with the Victoria Police Department observed a vehicle matching the description. Detective Broadus remained with the vehicle as other Crossroads Taskforce members responded to the location. Frieda was arrested by members of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Unit and transported to the Victoria County Jail.
