TAAF Swim Regionals held at Aquatics Center
VICTORIA, Texas — Swim Regionals have officially concluded, as qualifying swimmers around the Crossroads now turning their focus to College Station.
Sunday marked the end of TAAF’s Region 16 Championships, with the top three finishers in each event earning a qualification for State at the end of the month at Texas A&M. The two-day event featured teams from all over South Texas, with swimmers ages 10 and under competing on Saturday, and those 11 and over on Sunday.
“It feels really good,” said state qualifier Townes Van Gundy after Sunday’s meet. “I’ve worked really hard throughout the five years I swam to get as fast I am now.”
Victoria will be well represented with both their relay teams and individual swimmers at this year’s State Meet, which takes place from July 25th to the 28th.
