Sunshine Returns, Heat Returns With It.
Showers possible over Father's Day weekend...
VICTORIA, Texas — The main concern for this weekend is the return of dangerous Heat Indices, and also the return of rain chances. As the temperatures creep into the low 90s on Saturday, the moisture influx from the Gulf of Mexico makes sure that it feels much hotter in the Crossroads. Heat Indices will get close to 105 degrees tomorrow, so remember to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks in the A/C or shade if you work outside. It will also become breezy until early next week; make sure you secure anything in your yard or on your porch that could easily be blown by gusts up to 25 MPH.
Father’s Day will be a bit on the hot side, with highs in the mid-90s and partly cloudy skies. We do have a 30% chance for showers or thunderstorms, but I wouldn’t cancel any outdoor plans over it. Very conditional rain chance based on how far inland the sea breeze can travel.
Into next week, we will see our highest chance for rain on Monday, 40%, as a Low pressure system shifts eastward to our north. Afterwards we should dry out pretty nicely. Be wary though of the heat, as heat indices are expected to become a concern once again mid-week next week.
