STJ Volleyball Heads To Big D 8-29

Lady Flyers Play In Big Tourney There

The last time St. Joe volleyball headed towards the Metroplex, the Lady Flyers won the state title last November.
This time around, it’s a big tournament. The Lady Flyers are 12-3 this season, and they are coming off a rare home loss. St. Joe lost in five Tuesday night to La Vernia, ranked third in the Texas Girls Coaches Association state 4A poll. I asked two Lady Flyers where their team has improved the most.

Said setter Sarah Rosas, “We need to get better at cheering after every point, coming together. Even if we lose the point it hypes each other up more..”

Said libero Cassidy Rather, “I’ve seen a lot of improvement. At the beginning we did struggle a little bit. We had a hard time getting on the same page with everybody, bringing up people who had not played on the varsity level before. But there is major improvement so far and I can’t wait to see how it’s like at the end of the season. “

St. Joe volleyball starts play in the Prince Of Peace tournament in Dallas Friday morning at 8:00. The Lady Flyers play Grapevine Faith at the Net Results aAena.
