STJ Hires Former UHV Softball Star As Head Coach
One of UHV softball’s greatest players ever now will be a coach in her hometown.
Marley Moehrig is the new softball head coach at St. Joe. She was an assistant with Lady Flyer softball two years ago. After earning All-State honors in her senior season with the Memorial Vipers, Moehrig signed with the Jaguars. In her junior season, she set UHV season records for homers, triples and RBI’s. Moehrig earned All-America honors from the NAIA and the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association, as well as being named UHV’s Female Athlete Of The Year. Moehrig was first team All-Conference in 2013 and ’14. As a senior she was also an All-Region pick as she led the Jaguars in homers, RBI’s and total bases. Marley also got to play in Europe for two weeks with Team USA.
St. Joe also hires former All-State volleyball and softball player Kate Tucker to be Lady Flyers volleyball assistant coach.
